Sierra Nevada Red Fox Spotted in Yosemite

After over a hundred years, the shy Sierra Nevada Red Fox (Vulpes vulpes necator), was captured on camera in Yosemite National Park. This is one of the most elusive, and endangered mammals in North America, with less than 50 individuals left. These foxes are living proof that national parks are vital to our nation's wildlife. We can only hope that this subspecies will bounce back and grow in numbers.
